How to Change an Icon in Windows 7

Perhaps you have a Windows 7 computer/laptop and you think your icons need to be "jazzed up".



Right click the folder you want to change.

Click on Properties at the bottom of the drop-down list.

Select "Customize".

Look at the bottom of the new window for "Folder Icons".

Click "Change Icons".

Navigate through the list of Default Windows Icons.

Click "OK" after selecting your icon.

Click Apply.

If you want to add custom icons then here is how to do it.

Go to IconFinder.

Type in a search term such as "Tree".

Click on the image of your choice.
Click the green button saying "ICO"

Let it download and place in a file of your choice.

Click on Properties at the bottom of the drop-down list.

Select "Customize".
Look at the bottom of the new window for "Folder Icons".

Click "Change Icons".

Select "Browse" and locate the icon in its folder.
Click open.

Ensure the icon is selected before clicking "OK".

Click Apply.
