On most Windows 7 computers, English is used as the default language in all menus, dialog boxes, wizards, and programs. However, you can change the default language at any time by modifying your language preferences in the Control Panel.
Click on the “Start” button and select “Control Panel.” The Control Panel window will display on-screen.

Click on “Clock, Language, and Region.”
Click on “Region and Language.” The Region and Language window will display on-screen.
Click on the tab labeled “Keyboards and Languages.”
Select a new language from the dropdown menu under “Display Language.”
- If the language of your choice is not displayed, click on “How can I install additional languages?” located at the bottom of the Region and Language window. If your version of Windows 7 supports additional languages, Microsoft will provide you with a link from which you can download additional languages.
Click on “OK.” The language on your Windows 7 computer will now update to the language you selected.
